The Times of India reports a partial solar eclipse on 2nd August 2025. While astronomically valid, traditional Hindu astrology requires an celestial event to occur near one of the lunar nodes (rahu/ketu) to be considered an eclipse. Ketu, however, is too distant - positioned in simha at 25º58', while ravi is in kataka at 16º09'.
